A Spot of Coffee... ;-)

Wooo Hooo! I finished A Spot of Tea by Dragon Dreams yesterday... However, since I'm a coffee lover... I'm calling my wee dragon, Coffee! lol I've still got to finish him off into a scissor fob... I'll get to that this weekend when I'm off work. I did not add my signature crow/blackbird as I think I'm going to stitch him on the back of the fob instead. It was going to be too big otherwise, I think... Who knows, I may yet change my mind! :-) The pink colours in the scan are still not right... but it's still pretty. I stitched him on Vintage Country Mocha Cashel with DMC, GAST Highland Heather and Aztec Gold HL Very Fine Braid.

I started "New Snow" today... :-) I'm loving it thus far... It's such a lovely design and I love the fabric! I'll post a progress scan this weekend!

We're under a Winter Snow Storm Advisory... It's supposed to start sometime after midnight and continue throughout tomorrow... And of course I have to work tomorrow... so... just may have to call out the troops to come and get me in the morning! lol I'm hoping it won't be too bad, as we always have more 911 calls when the weather is bad! And if the snow and ice gets too bad, and our relief cannot make it in, my partner and I will have to stay for the night shift as well... Our director will also be there, so at least we can take cat naps throughout the night! I am hoping the weather doesn't get too bad as I fancy coming home to my own bed tomorrow night instead of working 24+ hours... and it's my long weekend off and I am looking forward to lots of rest and stitching... :-)

Well, I'm away to read my book a wee bit before bed... I finished Eargon yesterday... I really started reading and just could not put it down until I had finished it! Oh, it was wonderful! I started reading Eldest last night... And I'm loving it thus far... :-)

Thank you all for visiting and I love reading your comments... they brighten my days! :-)

Until next time... Love in Stitches...

To Sleep... Perchance to Dream... Of Frogs...

I arrived home from work tonight, tired, yet thankful my three day, 36 hour stretch is over, and planning to get so much accomplished.... Ha! It wasn't in the stars. lol I fell asleep here in the chair at my desk whilst reading through my emails...only to dream of frogs... the stitching kind that is! ;-) I still have not finished my wee scissor fob... :-( I haven't had a lot of stitching time this weekend... Things were a wee bit wild at work and it's not even a full moon! I frogged the teacup today because I did not like the white and light pearl grey - which was the recommended colours... So... after going through some threads I had in my stitching bag with me at work, I chose GAST Highland Heather and I'm much happier with the results! :-) I've scanned my progress, however the Highland Heather does not look right in the scan... it's much too bright and lavender looking... Actually, it's more subtle and dusky pink and I'm a wee bit disappointed with the scan. I'll play around with it tomorrow when I scan the finished piece. I have a wee bit of the teacup to go and the rest of the backstitch and then I'm done... So, I'll get to that tomorrow and then I can begin New Snow! Wooo Hooooo... Here's a piccy of my progress thus far on A Spot of Tea by Dragon Dreams ...

Well, now that I've had a wee cat-nap, braved frogs and another night alone... I guess I should retire... However, after surviving on three and a half to four hours sleep the past three nights, my sleep deprived body thinks it's time to get up and start the day! Methinks not! lol I'm sipping on a piping hot cuppa coffee and listening to James Blunt and will most likely answer a few emails before I call it a night. There are so many things I need to do... just not enough hours in the day!

The winds are howling around the corners of the house and it's downright Baltic outside... Yet still no snow... It's supposed to be around 19F tonight and only in the 30's tomorrow... A great day to stitch! :-) Hopefully, I'll have another finish tomorrow!

Thanks for visiting my Blog and many heart-felt thanks for all the wonderful comments... they bring such joy and inspiration to my days! :-)

Until next time... Love in stitches...

In the wee hours...

I'm sitting here drinking coffee and listening to James Blunt and trying to catch up with a few things... ;-) Not much time to post tonight... It's late already and I'm tired and it will be time to wake up before I know it... I did want to show you my progress on A Spot of Tea by Dragon Dreams... I'm stitching him on Vintage Country Mocha Cashel with the recommended threads... the wee Dragon is finished with the exception of the backstitching and then it's the tea cup and I'll be done! Wooo Hoooo.... I think he's going to make a cute scissor fob and hopefully I'll be finished with him tomorrow... ;-)

Thanks to everyone for visiting my blog and leaving comments... they are golden rays of sunlight in my days...

Started A Wee Something New...

I started A Spot of Tea by Dragon Dreams today... I'm just stitching the wee dragon in the tea cup and leaving off the border and the words as I'll be making it into a scissor fob for an exchange in one of my stitching groups. I'll try and scan it tomorrow... :-)

I still have not decided on which Dragon I'll be stitching... I'm leaning towards Dragon's Lair or Dragon Heart by Black Swan Designs.... Or... More Precious Than Gold by X's and Oh's ... Or... Seasonal Dragons Autumn by Patricia Allison Designs... Just my luck that I don't have any of these designs in my stash... so I guess I'll be placing an order soon... ;-) I have a few TW Dragon's and a couple of Dragon Dreams Dragons in my stash and I may just go with a DD I have in my stash, such as... Guard This Keep or Why Hoard Gold? as I don't think I'm going to start a TW just now. Ahhhh... decisions, decisions...

I'm really looking forward to starting New Snow by Glendon Place next week... It's back to work tomorrow after being off for two days and this is my three day weekend and then I'll be off Monday and Tuesday... so I'm thinking that will be the perfect time to start it! :-) I don't know where the time went on my days off... Seems like I never have enough time to get everything done...

Thank you to everyone who has left comments in my blog... It's like discovering precious treasures when I come to my blog and see you all have been by... :-)

Well, I'm off to get ready for bed now as 4:00 AM will be here before I know it...

Until Next Time... Love in Stitches...

Stitchy Happy Dance... :-)

Wooo Hoooo!!! Finally a finish for 2007... I put the last stitch in Santa's Unexpected Gift by Dragon Dreams yesterday! I love the way it turned out and it's put me in a mood to stitch a Dragon piece. I've been looking through my stash and my favourite online shoppes to see what I can find 'cause I want to start on a Dragon design now! LOL Anyway, while I'm trying to decide... here's a piccy of Santa's Unexpected Gift by Dragon Dreams! I still have to make it into an ornament but at least the stitching is finished. :-)

I'm still tweaking my blog... I guess if I weren't so bloody particular about things, I'd have it sorted by now... I suppose it will have to be a "work in progress" of another sort! lol I'd like to thank everyone for their lovely comments... I love reading them and knowing you all take the time to visit my blog brightens my day! :-)

I'm away to do some more Dragon hunting now... ;-)

Until Next Time... Love In Stitches...

Another Weekend Gone...

And Still no stitchy Happy Dance... I worked on my blog some more today and I think I am finally satisfied with the end results! :-) Of course I'll probably end up tweaking it here and there and I know I'll be adding more things as I go along... Anyway, it's a start! So, I can Happy Dance about that... Wooo Hoooo! ;-)

I worked on my Dragon Dreams ornament some more late this afternoon and this evening while I was watching The Illusionist! What a great movie... I loved it! If you haven't seen it yet you should as it's the best movie I've seen in a while. I still haven't made it to see Eragon yet and most likely will not get to the Cinema to see it... so will have to wait until it comes out on DVD... :-( It's just not any fun going to watch a movie alone.

Anyway, back to my stitching... I'm almost done with the Fuzzy Stuff on Santa's Coat and then that's it... Finally... It will be nice to have a finish! Then I'll finish my Full Circle - A Christmas Blessing and then... drum roll please... I'll be starting something new! LOL I want to stitch a snowman for the SAL this month at STO... I've picked out the freebie, Baby It's Cold Outside by The Useful Needle... It looks like a quick stitch... Now if I can just get it all done by the end of the month. I also want to start New Snow by Glendon Place this month. I got the fabby, threads and chart from Drema at Needlecraft Corner last week and I can't wait to get started. It's gorgeous! And the fabric is so pretty.... Here's a piccy if you haven't seen it yet...

Anyway, I've got to get ready for bed now as 4:00 AM will be here before I know it. :-( It's been raining since this afternoon... They were calling for it to turn to Ice or Freezing Rain... I know it's cold enough to freeze... I guess we'll see what the conditions are when I get up in the morning... May have to call out the troops to come and take me to work! LOL I just hope if it's freezing tomorrow folks stay at home so there aren't alot of accidents and such... Well, I'm off to bed... and hopefully, I'll be posting my Dragon Dreams finish tomorrow night!

Until next time... Happy Stitching...

Still No Finish for 2007... :-(

I was hoping to have my Dragon Dreams ornament finished today... no such luck as I haven't stitched any since Thursday and I'm beginning to feel the strain of it all... Does anyone else get a wee bit ill if they go too long without stitching? LOL

I've been busy trying to get my blog sorted out and looking for blinkies... and I'm telling ya, it's like wading through a jungle out there... I can't seem to find any of the really cool one's I've seen on other blogs... or if I do find some I like... I can't use them as the folks will not let you right click and save... Oh well... I think I've made a good start... I like it so far anyway! :-) Now to just get some stitching photo's uploaded... I still need to work on a WIP list... I don't know where to find those progress bar thingies tho'... :-( And there are a few other lists and such I would like to add on the sidebar.

I can't believe tomorrow is Sunday and my weekend is almost gone... It's my weekend off and the three days go by so fast when you're busy... Actually, they go by too fast whether you're busy or not! And next week is my long week at work, so I know I won't get much done in the way of my blog... I will have time to stitch at work, so that's a plus! :-) I also planned to catch up with some posting on some of my stitching groups this weekend... Ha! No such luck thus far! Between catching up on housework and starting this blog and sorting my webshots photos, I've had precious little time for anything else!

Tomorrow will be a stitchy day... and hopefully I will finally produce a finish for 2007... I'm looking forward to my Happy Snoopy Dance! Until such time... here is another progress photo for Dragon Dreams... Santa's Unexpected Gift... I just love this one! :-)

Oh, and here's another piccy of a WIP ornament I started this month... Actually it is the second time I've stitched this one... The first one I stitched for the JCS Ornament SAL last year in one of my stitching groups, Stitchers Time Out and gave it to a friend for Christmas... This time I'm stitching one for myself... It's so pretty and delicate... I'm stitching it on Vintage Autumn Blush Cashel Linen with GAST and WDW threads...

So, until next time... Happy Stitching ... :-)

Dragon Dreams WIP

I thought it would be nice to start the new year with a stitching blog... Of course, you know I'll most likely ramble a wee bit about this and that... my stash collecting, my family, my cats... my stash collecting... oh, already mentioned that didn't I? ;-) And anything else that comes to mind... I'm new to this, so please bare with me whilst I'm learning... ;-)

In one of my stitching groups we are doing another Monthly Ornament SAL... We stitch one ornament a month from the 2006 Just Cross Stitch Ornament Issue... Everyone voted on their favourites and the top 12 designs are the ornies we stitch for the year. We can choose three Wildcards in case we do not want to stitch one or more of the ornies voted on... I chose a Wildcard for my January Ornament... Santa's Unexpected Gift by Dragon Dreams... Hopefully, I'll have it finished by this weekend... I'm stitching it on Vintage Country Mocha Cashel Linen {one of my absolute favourite fabrics } with DMC threads, White Fuzzy Stuff and Pearl Braid ... I think it's coming along nicely! :-)

Until next time... Love in stitches...

What Tarot Card Are You???

What Tarot Card Are You?
You are The Empress
Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.
The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents, beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.
The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.
